WP 6: Focusing Teaching on Special Themes and New Needs
Objectives
The main objective of this WP is to prepare new comers, professionals in the field of the medicinal products from industry, regulators and institutions to address the challenging needs of modern medicinal product development and beyond the conventional drug development path and to address barriers to innovation and drug development.
- Identify new challenging areas and barriers in order to incorporate solutions in pharmaceutical medicine curriculum and adopt principles and practices that could be taught to address them. Teach the use of in silico approaches.
- Teach how to develop new medicinal products in vulnerable, orphan and small populations.
- Teach the use of new methodologies and technologies such as novel imaging techniques and theranostics (e.g. with the aim of better identifying a subgroup of population who might benefit from treatments) as well as better use of more traditional approaches that are underused or inappropriately used.
